Nile River

Nile River World's Longest River  

Nile River, is the father of African rivers and the longest river in the world. It rises from south of the Equator and flows northward through northeastern Africa. The River Nile is considered to be of great significance because its water is shared by eleven countries namely, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo-Kinshasa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan, Sudan and Egypt. 

The length of the Nile River is approximately 6650 kilometres (4132 miles). It is believed to be the longest river in the world.

The Nile has two main tributaries, The White Nile is the longer tributary and is the primary stream however the Blue Nile is the major source of water.
