MOUNTAIN GOAT
The mountain goat is a bog gaot found in the mountains of North America. They also live in the coastal areas of Northwestern America and Southwestern Alaska. This animal is known for its agility and power. It is also known as the Rocky Mountain goat. With its large and sticky hoof, it can climb on the steep rocks and ice covered mountains without any difficulity. We can say that its a sure-footed climber. The domestic goat is derived from a genus of mountain goats.
The mountain goats are very active animals.

Appearance
The male and female mountain goats have beard on their chins. They have short tails. They have long faces and long black horns. They usually have white double woolly coats which protects it from external environment and severe cold.
Habitat:
As it is clear from the name of this animal that they use to spend their life span on rocky mountains. They also move to other mountain ranges in search of food.
Diet:
The mountain goats are Herbivores and most of the time they are found grazing the green grasses and all other types of shurbs like conifers, mosses, ferns, and herbs. They also eat grains, fruits and vegetables.
Aggressive Behaviour:
There is an amazing thing about this animal which is its aggressive behaviour. They are really conscious about their living places and food and do much to protect them. They fight woith one another for the food sources and places and for dominance. On the onset of a conflict between these animals, they come close with their heads down,displaying their horns. The fights between the male goats during breeding season may cause serious injury and can cause death. The females occasionally fight for the source of food.
Life cycle:
The lifetime of mountain goat live 12 to 15 years in the wild. The lifespan of this animal is decreased by the wearing down of their teeth. However in zoos, they can live 16 to 20 years.
Mating:
Usually the mountain goats reach to the sexual maturity in about 30 months. They usually came close in the months of October to early December for mating. The gestation period is between 150 to 180 days.
Population:
The estimated results of the populaton of this animal is about 100,000. Most of them are found in the mountains of North America.
